For the Love of Navy

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but lately navy has been making quite a splash and not just in the nautical world, but in everyday design. I must say that I’m absolutely loving navy right now! Recently I convinced my clients to paint their bedroom walls navy, which a lot of their friends and family were hesitant about, but it turned out beautifully and my clients loved it! Here it is below:

Navy Walls

Since navy is so hot right now, I wanted to share some examples of designs using navy.

I love the white kitchen paired with the navy island, and the stools tie both elements together.

Here’s another navy kitchen island, where it stands out in a more subtle way.

Here the designer has chosen a slate gray/navy paired with brass hardware which is just gorgeous in this laundry area.

Navy Cabinets

Navy isn’t just reserved for cabinets, here the navy bookshelf in this office really packs a punch and creates an alluring focal point.

Using navy as an accent wall in this bedroom is just stunning and elegant and pairing the bedding and lamps with the wall ties the whole design together.

You don’t have to commit to navy paint, if you’re nervous about dark walls, you can create the same effect by using navy accessories and furniture.

My absolute favourite way to use navy is on the exterior of a house! Since your house exterior is large, it can handle the darker color without getting swallowed up. Pair navy with white for a fool proof exterior color palette.
